Welcome! The purpose of Artemis Pet Service is to provide responsible, loving pet sitting to animal friends while their people are away. My commitment is to not only treat your pets as if they were my own, but to listen carefully to your instructions because all animals are unique.
Your time away from home will be less stressful when you know your pets are safe and getting lots of loving attention. Dog walking is one of my favorite activities, so if your dog needs to be tired out, I can do that! I could also take your dog for a hike in Elysian Park.
Please note that my dog walks are individual--just your dog or dogs for the time you have scheduled.
Good communication between pet sitters and pet people is essential. You will hear from me with updates about your pets' activities and well-being as frequently as you like. Yes, I can put the phone up to their ear so you can say hi. I've learned that a photo of a much-missed animal can mean a lot to someone away from home, so I'm happy to email photos of the day.
Artemis Pet Service offers a multitude of services for a variety of pets. I can also handle various home services which, by making it appear that your house is occupied, can be a crime deterrent. Choose the schedule and services you want, and I'll do the rest.
Artemis is based in Echo Park, but serves the surrounding neighborhoods as well.
Recently, I've been getting calls from people who have never had a pet sitter and ask me what I do, or, "What does pet sitting involve?" The best answer is that it's whatever you want it to be! I do for your pet what you would, which we discuss at the consultation. To give an idea of what it usually is, the following are examples.
Pet services include:
- Dog walking: 30- or 45-minute
- Hourly pet sitting/ hiking
- Administration of medicine and diabetic care
- Feeding
- Brushing
- Playing
- Litterbox cleaning
- Overnight stays
- Bird, reptile, and small animal care
Home services include:
- Watering plants
- Bringing in newspapers/mail
- Turning on/alternating lights
- Opening/closing blinds
- Carrying trash out/ bringing bins in
